Founded in 1961, by Komei Kaneko, now his son Yasuaki takes over the business. At Kaneko Koi Farm of Nishikigoi Niigata Direct, we breed mainly Kujaku and Shiro Utsuri, other kinds of breeds are: Doitsu Kujaku, Beni Kikokuryu, Koromo, Doitsu Ochiba, Koromo, Ginrin Hajiro.
We have been using original Kaneko Kujaku line fish as Kujaku parent koi, both male amd female. When producing Kujaku, it does not always go as we expect to, as it is difficult to get deep "Beni"on "Hikarimono" - metallic fish, but we are very much particular about the "Beni" quality of our Kujaku. We aim to produce Kujaku with much sheen and better "Beni" (we call it "Beni Kujaku").
As for Shiro Utsuri parents, we use female parent koi of our own Kaneko line, adding Yagenji and Omosako line male parents. We try to develop our line - aiming for jumbo Shiro Utsuri with lustrous "Sumi" on pure white body.
Our farm is strong on "Hikari Moyo" (metallic koi with patterns), especially, our Kujaku is highly evaluated both in Japan and abroad.
If you are looking for fine Kujaku or Shiro Usturi, Kaneko Koi Farm is the first place you'd want to visit.
