Package 2000
For ponds up to 2000 gallons, we offer the complete professional package option.
This is all you will ever need to successfully keep your Koi Pool running.
As with all koi ponds a Bottom drain is a must have !!!
A successfully run koi pond will not be without one, and one should not contemplate building a koi pond without one.We believe you wouldnt sit in a bath with a box filter and rely on this to succesfully get rid of the dirty water without a plug!!!
(Same principle)
The advantages of the bottom drain over a pump fed system are immense. For one you are constantly drawing water from the bottom of your pond into the filter where the mechanical and biological filtration takes place.
Spindrifter bottom drains offer the added solution that they provide superb aeration to the pond without having airlines dangling in the pond ,also at the same time this is aiding debris to be pulled into the drain far more efficiently.
Now that we have covered the topic of getting the waste out of the pond we move onto filtration.
The Eazypod in our opinion is the filter to have when you have, or are considering, a pond of 2000 gallons or under. We successfully run very highly stocked small ponds (1200gallons) on our premises.150 small koi can be held in these after our buying trips with no adverse affect to any water parametres..jpg)
All those who say that an Eazypod will not cope are more than welcome to view our koi in these ponds and gain first hand experience of the fantastic little bit of kit that defies belief of its ability to cope and successfully filter heavily stocked ponds.
A low priced smaller version of the Nexus Eazy, the Eazy Pod complete mechanical and biological filter system for garden ponds up to 20,000 litres or koi ponds up to 10,000 litres....
Advantages to the Eazypod :
- Very eazy to install and operate
- Utilising proven Eazy 200 and Kaldnes K1 media
- Gives incredibly 'GIN clear' water
- Quick and eazy cleaning cycle with no wet or dirty hands
- Complete with adjustable rubber connectors -

- Small filter - only 23 inches tall AND WIDE (585mm)
- Works equally well pump or gravity fed
Its Ideal as a complete filter for koi ponds up to 2000 gallons
How important is aeration in a koi pond?
In one word Essential !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A koi pond cannot successfully run on a small waterfall or spitting frog! Koi require an abundance of oxygen just like ourselves and so do our filter bacteria to complete the nitrogen cycle and convert the toxins into healthy, clean , pollutant free water.
We believe that air pumps are the most efficient and effective way of providing adequate aeration to your koi system, and all those serious about keeping koi in tip-top condition should have at least one running on their chosen system to keep both the koi and the filter bacteria in prime condition.
Always choose a quality air pump, don't skimp on reliability .
Cold water can hold considerable amounts of dissolved oxygen, but during warm weather, the ability of water to hold dissolved oxygen is substantially reduced!, and this is when plant life can quickly strip the already low levels of oxygen from the water with sometimes fatal results for our koi.
Due to the Eazypod only requiring air to clean, our package deal also contains a two way air valve included in the price.
The advantages to this are that the spindrifter runs constantly. When it comes to the clean, close one valve and open the other ,thus diverting air to the bottom of the pod, and no second air pump is required, saving you money!.
Now we need to circulate the water in our ponds and we do this by using a pump.
Utilizing a bottom drain you have created a gravity fed system,so the pump should sit externally ,outside of your pond and after your filter system to be then pumped into your uv and back into the pond.
Water pumps are the life and soul of any system and without one we would not be able to turn the water over and have it filtered . This is why it is essential to purchase a good quality pump with a good guarantee and back up service.
Also we should be looking out for a low wattage pump to save us even more money on your electricity bill. We recommend the Sequence range of pumps as well as Oase and Filtertech S.H.P range.
Clarity is our final issue and algae growth (green water ) can only be eliminated via one product and this is a U.V. clarifier.
The basic way a U.V clarifier works are as follows..jpg)
The pond water travels through the quartz tube, U.V light rays penetrate the water.
As algae travels through the UVC and comes into contact with the light, their cell walls are damaged by the U.V light, which causes the green algae cells to clump together.
Usually if not using UV the algae will be so small that it just recirculates around your system, but by utilizing a U.V you are able to draw it out of your system.
These are the basic principles to the running of any koi pond and if the correctly matched equipment is chosen in conjunction to your pond size then many hours of pleasure can be gained from our beautiful koi.
No more since the arrival of modern filtration do we have to spend hours cleaning out our dirty brushes ,gravel filters etc, in only a few minutes via a turn of a valve we can gain exceptional clarity with ease and spend more time with what the purpose of the whole exercise it to do and that it spending time enjoying our prized koi and watching them thrive in the best possible enviroment.
